Frequently Ask Questions

You have questions? We have answers.

Can you help me with legal work in the state where I reside/do business?

Yes. As transactional attorneys, we research and analyze federal law and the laws of jurisdictions where our clients reside and practice. We draft documents and provide guidance informed by such research. And we are particularly competent in researching and understanding the interplay of DPC laws with other healthcare-related laws. We do not represent clients in court or before administrative agencies in any jurisdictions, however, so when state-specific legal determinations are material or if you are involved in litigation, we may recommend that you consult with local counsel licensed in your state.

After you commit to a service model (transactional or membership), we will send an engagement letter for your review and signature. This outlines the terms of our work with you. We will begin work on your requested services immediately after you sign the engagement letter.

Our accountant is Joseph Sanders. He works closely with all our financial clients to ensure accurate and strategic financial management and reporting. Joseph will review your finances with you each month and is available for questions outside of that scheduled meeting.

While some steps can be managed concurrently, we emphasize entity formation first, followed by legal operating documents (Member Agreement, compliance documents) and business setup (name, website, EMR). If the process seems overwhelming, our consulting membership provides an easy, logical sequence that minimizes initial overhead and prioritizes building a solid foundation for your launch.

We want to help you for the life of your practice. Our consulting members get the most value because they have access to a wider range of services that can all be kept in house.

We offer both membership and a la carte services. Prices for entity formation and legal drafting are listed on our Pricing and Services page.

Your consulting membership ends when that term expires (e.g., at the end of twelve months). You then have the option to renew the membership or switch to a transactional service model.

Yes. We find the Medicare Administrative Carrier for your state, provide you with the correct affidavit, consult with you on the optimal timing for submission, prepare the Contract for Services Provided to Medicare Beneficiaries, and instruct you on the legal requirements of opting out.

The membership provides DPC physicians with more holistic service and attention to all salient aspects of running a business: legal, operations, finance, human resources, and strategy. Members learn how to read and understand financial reports, negotiate better contracts, and grow strategically.

We have experience with a wide range of EHRs built for DPC, including AtlasMD, Cerbo, SigmaMD, Akute, and Hint. We can consult with you regarding the EHR that best fits your needs immediately and the long run.
